Whats inside the grill of the first truck, #427 ? And whats with the voltage regulator on it as well? It caught my eye, and I just thought I'd ask.

I'm not sure what to make of the "thing" inside the grill. It appears to be an electrical junction box without a cover. The wires coming into it don't appear to be connected to anything, either.

The non-stock voltage regulator would seem to indicate that the truck has been converted to 12-volts.

100 amp rectifier

I do believe that is the rectifier for the 100 amp generator system. My dump truck has the square hole for the cables but the rectifier is long gone. I believe that the 100 amp generator trucks were the m42 command truck also if memory serves me correct. larger generator for the radio sets.
