Does anyone know where I can get a new dataplate for the starter? VPW doesn't carry them and they seem to be a rare bird.

hey you might want to check out the "NOS parts" thread in the swap meet, there's a nice radiator in there, and it's even in MD.

Just wanted to throw an update out there, still working on it despite the cold! I had a monumental weekend when I finally got the cab mounted to the frame.

I think the last photo pretty much says it all. That's me sitting in the driver seat for the first time since I started working on the truck in 2011. I know I have a ton of work ahead of me yet, but man did it feel great to finally see that cab sit back on the frame.

Nice work! I'll be stripping mine down and building her back up in May; getting a parts order off to John at Midwest Military in the next day or two.

Finally got the transmission put back together, ready to mate up to the bellhousing. New bearings and seals all the way around. I'm just about done with mechanical things on the truck, it will certainly be a relief to move on to body work and electrical!

What color paint did you use for the body?

I noticed that you used one of the Canadian transmission boots on the transmission shifter stub shaft. Did you have any trouble getting it to slip on and stay on the NP420 shift tower casting?
