Does anyone have a diagram or a TM # that shows the proper way to secure the rope to the cab hooks? geraldo

It is usually a no-brainer, however I would like to see the proper way to tie off the ends. Tom

The "proper" way to tie off the ends would be to use a taut-line hitch (see Boy Scout manual for tying instructions) at each end. This will allow you to easily tighten or loosen the ends without untying and retying them. Ropes will stretch with use, so you'll want to tighten them up a bit now and then. In wet weather, they will shrink, so you'll want to be able to loosen them up a bit once in a while, too. The taut-line hitch was developed by wind-jammer sailors just for this purpose and has been used on tent guy lines for centuries.

PS Magazine did a two page spread once showing the correct method for tieing off tarps... Since you don't take off and remove the cab as often as the cargo cover, Lifer's suggestion of using a taught line hitch is a good one as you can adjust the tension...

For the "official" word from PSMagazine, take a gander at the scan found at this link:
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php? ... _photo.php

I'd post the photo directly here, but that would involve dowloading it to my machine, resizing it, then uploading it...

Steelsoldiers has an section of the PSMagazine scans devoted to ones dealing with the M37 in addition to the canvas section where I found the above image...

Good luck.
