Are you missing the center support bracket for your tailgate. Will we are and we found one to look at in person. It is made out of thin tin = weak support. Well I made one for our M37. What do you think?

I only had the side supports when I built my tailgate. I didn't even know about the center support. My truck had no tailgate when I bought it from the fire department. I welded it up and used a solid cylindrical rod as the hinge and it was full bed width. The rest of the tailgate was welded to the rod and I have no flex at all when I sit on the tailgate when it is down

Joe,

I modified your image to a URL link, since the photo is hosted on the G503 site.

The bracket looks like it should work just fine.
