Pulling Distributor?

I was trying to pull my dist off and removed the retaining bolt. I can pull the dist off about a 1/8" and then I feel a hard metal contact. The dist rotates easily left to right but will now pull straight off. I tried a small pry bar but it wouldn't budge. Like said, it moves a little but then makes hard contact and I confirmed with Charles to pull straight away. Any ideas? I want to make sure I lube and change over to electronic ign that I bought from Charles.
