jj,

Are you talking about the big pipe nipple that's attached to the tank that the hose attaches to for the fuel filler tube? If you are.....that pipe is threaded into the tank.
But after all these years it's gonna be a bear to remove. I'm sure they put some type of sealer on the threads when it was assembled....meaning glue. Probably going to need some heat to get it off........and you know how dangerous that is around an old fuel tank. Be careful. VPW sells NOS nipples for $15, so that's not the problem. Getting your old one out without screwing up the threads in the tank is.

later,
bob

I have my tank out of the truck for repairs, and I was surprised how easily the 1" pipe plug and the fuel petcock spun out. They are quite a bit smaller than the filler pipe though. You might have some luck

Bob,

Yes, it is large 2 1/4 napple. Fortunately, it is replacment tank. It has been stored for more than 10 years without gas. So no problem to heat it.

Thanks,

Jacques

If you don't do your own soldering I would suggest taking it to a local radiator shop and they can repair no problem!
