Hi Guys,

Have any of you mounted a rear view mirror on the passenger side of your truck? If you did how did you do it? I'd like it to look identical to the driver's side mirror, but dont' see a good way to mount one without drilling holes in the cowl. Pics would be wonderful if you have them.

thanks,
bob

i was looking at pictures of my unxcles old m37 and he had both mirrors mounted by brackets held in by the rear 2 bolts of the engine side covers. i recently looked at one to buy and it had the passenger side mirror held in an identicle fashion. the bracket looked to be a factory piece of some sort but the driver side was bolted to side ag windshield hinge.

No drilling involved, contact John @ Midwest Military.........he sells the brackets.

One minute of searching and I found Tim Powell's right side mirror mount. Thanks Tim.

You have to position it correctly or the door or window hits it when it is opened. Adjust it to far forward and the Jerry can hits it.

Use the bracket shown in the pic above. Its a direct copy of a Canadian one, fitted as one of a number of Canadian improvements to the M37 design. John at Midwest Military has them available and they don't require any special mods or interfere with the jerry can mount.

I just received a passenger side mirror mount from Midwest Mil, and it looks great. My only thing is that there is no hole for the bottom mount. I ordered the part while I was away from my truck, and just didn't think to check. Are those holes already there on the B1's ? I don't have a problem drilling a hole, I'm just Curious.

I put a mirror like the one mounted by the gas can, The door and the mirror didn't get along too well. So I looked into the other mount that I posted earlier. That mounts using the two bolts that hold the side cowl in place. No extra drilling on the M37, Just on the bracket.

Well, I figured it out. using the new mount as a template, I marked where the hole should have been. I started out with about a 5/16" drill bit, and it immediately started making big long curls. A little more than 1/4" of lead was covering a hidden weld nut. I opened up the hole, chased the threads, and dug through my bucket of old bolts, and I now have a Passenger side mirror. It is extremely tight though as far as clearance between the window and jerry Can. I may look at mounting something to the side cover if it becomes an issue.

A little late to this party but...this is how my passenger side mirror is mounted. My truck came this way. Its useless to be honest...I think in the coming months I will be making a longer arm for it out of deuce parts.

The two bolts next to the fording cover is where I mounted my mirror from a M35. Posted a photo earlier but you can't see the mounting bolts.
