they'll bolt right in, but they probably won't match up to the rest of the exhaust system. Will bolt right onto the heads though.

Thanks. Rest of the system doesn't matter. Needs replacing anyway (67 Mustang Coupe). Turns out the two are not the same. I'm tempted to put the 289 Hipo on the 351W, but the higher outlets might cause a clearance problem.

I figured you'd have clearance problems. What's different on them? They should bolt right up to the heads no problem.

351W has a taller deck, plus the 351W rear flange departs lower and at different angles from the Hipo. Larger diameter too. Also,some of the repop Hipos have to be clearanced to clear some of the spark plugs.

any suggestions from either of you guys for a return/bypass fuel system for the 351w? I have a Holley 4160 carb on there and see the benefit of the bypass over a deadhead system but figured I'd see if either of you had worked this type of system in previous builts. Modifying the tank pickup etc. Would it be easier to install an S10 fuel tank with the different pickup?

The return doesn't need to go back to the tank pickup, it could be plumbed into the filler neck or vent line.
My Edelbrock carb was run with a dead end setup, and a fuel pressure regulator. It seemed to work just fine, other than the regulator would plug up once in a while. A second filter fixed the issue.
The return line would be beneficial if you expect or forsee any vapor lock issues.

Thanks Ray. I don't really see any vapor lock issues, but since I'll be going to EFI eventually I figure if I'm going to run return lines eventually I may as well do it now.

I'm running a GM LS fuel injection, and mine is kind of a dead end system. My filter and regulator are mounted to the frame rail near the tank, and my return line is just a couple feet long to a fitting I added to the pickup plate/in-tank pump module. My filter/regulator is an off the shelf stock part for a 2000 Corvette. I think it was about $20. Its a great way to go if your EFI needs 55-60 psi.
