I think the winch trucks had an extra leaf; I'd count my old packs for you, but they are buried under 6' of snow at the moment.

No difference on the M37- I'm sure on that part. The M56 had an extra leaf as I recall. I'll confirm and update the post this afternoon.

If you add leafs (or is it leaves) to the front, you will encounter a U Bolt length problem. I just did this in anticipation of my V8 conversion. I added two leafs near the bottom of the stack and the passenger side U Bolt with the welded on saddle was not long enough. I had to get new U Bolts.

What V8 are you installing? Most V8's are comparable in weight to the 230, or 251, so no extra support is really needed... Unless your fronts were bagged right out to begin with...?

Using 360 Poly, will also be adding a 12V winch. I removed two of the shortest from the rear to improve ride because I won't really be hauling anything and will probably install a roll bar and seating in the bed at some time. Additionally was looking for increased articulation. The two I added were handy from the rear stacks so in the went, my theory was the added weight, but also increased my ride height by 3/4. However to be honest I never really researched the comparative weights of the two mills. In any event they are there and can always be removed if I find the ride adversely effected.
