Wasn't thinking Man Cave, I used plywood 4' high around most of the interior but installed 8' high by the work bench and toolbox area for durability. The balance of the 12' wall height I installed drywall because it was cheaper than plywood and easier to clean at a later date.

Sounds like you are doing it right and I can't wait to see the pictures during the build.

Yeah Sal, a lift, had a grease pit at my former location and am tired of getting in and out again when the vehicle was over it, what a pain in the back.



Jerry, I also was jealous of those with a nice shop and now it's my turn and am sure in the future it will be yours also.

Got lots of room Gary, both in bedrooms (any of you guys and esp. gals ) always welcome here, and in the parking lot and shop.

Yes Bert I failed to understand what you were saying I plan to do what you stated but using the OSB that is on hand sealed with several coats of clear sprayed on varnish. Also Bert, the many progress pix that I will take will be in a photo bucket album so as not to take up space here. Work will begin in as little as two weeks if permitting does not hold up the show.

I would be happy as a clam with a pit.. Sure beats a floor jack and a piece of cardboard. LOL Looks like your going to have a great set up from you spec's. Have fun ....

Congrats on the workshop.....it sounds awesome. And yes, I'm jealous! I was thinking about putting up a carport in my driveway so I could be out of the precip and work on my stuff a little longer this fall....but due to the incompetence of our Commander In Chief I got furloughed.....so no money for a carport. But you're doing it good......30 x 40?.....I'm beyond jealous. Heck, I think we should all bring our M's over to your place to work on them. We'll just call you a few hours ahead of time so you can get the heat turned on.

So when are they expecting to break ground/finish?

Actually, Carter is being modest, the pit was only for looks, he would usually tie in his workout with his truck maintenance and just lift the truck with one arm and grease it with the other but since his back surgery he will play it safe with the hoist from now on....isn't that how it was Carter??

MM....you know....I think you're right. I've seen the pit at Carter's old house......and I couldn't figure out why there were a few dumbells down there. Good call!

Sorry guys, been without internet for days, comes & goes here in the sticks however I am still recovering from getting my back sliced wide open so have had to stop with the truck lifting routine Tony and am back to doing it the old school way here at my new place with a set of ramps for the car and just roll under the M (slowly or I'll break the rod in my back). Need that garage built soon, I'm tired of laying on my sore back.

Heat turned on huh? How about get the wood stove fired up Bob and yes everyone is welcome although nobody lives near me but the house is always open to visitors as long as you drive or just love M37s. As they say south of here Y'all come

Bob, we went to the Township permit office Friday and as soon as the lady inspector shows up to check out stake-out and we get the go ahead we will start site work (grading stone and such) about a week later, possibly early week after next, weather permitting, don't see a smiley for fingers crossed.

Gotta go now boys, here sirens in the distance and that can only mean one thing.... a horse must have thrown a shoe and last week I signed up for the rescue squad, since I'm the new guy I have to bring the nails.

Got a call from the contractor today, material delivery tomorrow around 11:00 and dirt work on Friday, construction team due in here Monday and completion (except the conc. floor) estimated for Friday.
