Why do you say he must have "money to burn?" His "buy it now" price for the book is way more than it's worth, which is probably why he's offering free priority shipping, which isn't all that much for a book anyway.

Lifer.
I'm talking about the guy that bought that overpriced rag.I was gonna bid on the fording air cleaner lid, but the same guy that bought that book for $140.00 has bid well over $75.00 for the air cleaner lid
I have everything but the lid, must be a rare item.
anybody have a fording air cleaner lid they would part with at a fair price??
refit1701,
you really don't need that book, just some common sense,a place to work on your truck, and lots of time to have a nice looking truck!!

I cling to books in the beginning of a change of genre. I have a big stack of book for Mustang restoration which, after all these years, I don't need.
But....I am still hip deep in "what the heck is this" on my truck. I am trying to figure out which Carter carb I have so I can get a kit for it. The numbers are diffcult to read on the body.
Since mine is not the original engine, and converted to 12 volts, I'm sorta swimming around with no references.
It's a big puzzle!

Nice, but mine is not that carb. The letters on the side are DTE2.
It's a Carter, but some other type.

Gregg,' try Brian Asbury in Canada for the fording cover. I think I paid $35 for the complete unit. I feel your pain on prices. I need the battery box cover for my m43 but I'm not going to pay gold prices! My sister-in law gave me "the book'" for a birthday present several years ago. She paid $14.00. I had bought one for $9.00(which is too much). I am willing to mail this new, sealed copy to a forum member who wants it with the understanding that it is now the property of the forum and cannot be sold. It must be then mailed on to the next member in need. Maybe a waiting list can be kept on this thread so members know it's status. If members agree it will be on it's way to the first on the list.

Thanks Larry,
Would you happen to have any contact info for Mr. Asbury? I saw the bottom halve of the air cleaner on epay going for like $25.00 bucks (no lid). I was willing to pay $35.00 for that lid on epay but I'll make one before I'll pay $75.00 for it.
Your lucky day,I have a battery box lid,you can have it just pay shipping.
Sydney m37,
There are two types of air cleaners, one is an inclosed fording type with snorkel inlet, the other just has a mesh screen.
