I am replacing all the rubber flex lines on my M43 and I have noticed the replacement hoses arent the same. The originals use a banjo fitting with a bolt at the wheel cylinder and all the replacement hoses are regular screw in fittings. So, my first question is what does everyone do to clear the grease fitting on top the knuckle to thread the new hose straight into the wheel cylinder? Next, do you still use a copper sealing ring on the hose end that goes into the wheel cyliner? I would think that would make it stand off too far and not allow it to seat. Am I just an idiot and dont have the right hoses? I have checked all the normal places and all the pics of new brake hoses look just like mine without the banjo. Help!!

I got my hoses from Ablinn and all had the correct banjo fitting. The only thing I got locally was new cooper washers from NAPA. Everything fit like original.

On my truck, the banjo fitting was a separate piece that the hose threaded into. I actually bought my hoses from AB Linn as well.

Same here, AB Linn has all of them, though some may or might not be armored.

Just so happens I plan to swap mine tomorrow.

Be careful not to overtighten the hose into the banjo fitting. it is machined from brass, and will crack easily if overtightened. I didn'y notice that it had happened on mine, and it was a pain to track that gremlin down.

Yep, turns out it was an easy solution. There was so much gunk on the fitting I didnt notice that the brass adapter was screwed on and not part of the hose. I got them both off the old hoses so I should be all set.
