Odometer rolled 31,000

While taking a short Saturday evening cruise last night my odometer rolled to 31,000. It was neat to watch an old fashioned odometer roll over like that. That makes a whopping 2545 miles I have put on her since she hit the road in April 2009. I would have thought it was around 5K. It had 28,455 when I bought it. My engine should be just about broke in now 8)

Kelley, Sounds like you get alot of quality time with your truck. Enjoy. I am actually thinking of cutting back (just kidding) as my rig is starting to look like an "older resto" now  Scuffs on the running boards, a few scratches. I noticed a spec of rust on my master cylinder the last time I washed the truck. Time to do some touch up while I paint my trailer parts:wink:

And that's why these trucks are never "done". You're always finding something to touch up, tighten up, lube, etc etc.

Sounds like you're having fun with the truck! Has it been 3 years since you put it back on the road?

There really is always something that needs doing. Has anyone calculated the hours of maintenance / repair per miles driven? Keeping it running is as much fun as driving it.

I've always said that rule #1 of MV owenership is you will spend more time under the truck than you will in the truck... :)
Rule #2 is when driving your MV in the rain water will find it's way to your right foot.
And Rule #3 is Someone good hearted soul will call your truck a jeep.

There's a little old man that lives in the neighborhood and stops by to visit from time to time. He grew up in Italy during WWII. When he first laid eyes on my M37 he said in his thick italian accent son of a bitch where did you get the "Gipone"? Loose translation is "Big Jeep" or "Strong Jeep".
