Good Luck Rusty

M37-Bruce you were right they did get here. I ordered the cable from the generator to the regulator and its 2 feet longer then need be, maybe for a 2.5 ton ? The fuel filler pipe hose already had hose clamp marks from the first time it was used. Well after talking to VPW its the way it is! and its the only one they make! Tells me theres places under the hood to loop it around. I just cant believe this for $95.00

You should be able to find one at a swap meet.

I got my spare years ago from Sid Beck, but thats no longer an option for you. I can't remember the name of the people that bought his inventory but maybe someone else will. Did you try John @ MWM or AB Linn?

Shipping has unfortunately become a profit center for a number of vendors... I just started to place an order from a well-known VW parts supplier for 2 steel exhaust flanges for my dune buggy project and discovered that Standard UPS shipping on two 1/4 pound each steel flanges was going to run $19+...
Cancelled order during review prior to paying.
I'll go elsewhere -

Brent Mullins bought out Sid's stock; I believe their location is College Station, TX.
Shipping cost will vary from 1 vendor to another for different reasons, and yes there are some who use shipping charges as a profit margin. This is especially true with places that say $100 worth of merchandise is $20 to ship, even if it weighs only 1#; then they ship it via a slow boat to China. Packaging so you are reasonably sure parts will make it to their destination in good condition is also quite costly in some cases. If goods are not packed in accordance with the shipper's guidelines, they won't pay a dime if damaged goods result. Whom ever is on the receiving end will be the loser, and it can be a big loss. Fed-Ex and UPS has hit us with higher pick up fees because we are in a rural area. We ship all we can via USPS, it is the best deal going up to a point. I can ship many items truck freight at a better rate than Fed-Ex or UPS. Many vendors use only 1 shipper for everything, they pay no attention to who offers the best rate.
The one size fits all cable isn't always what will work and I simply have never understood why vendors advertise items like this for a specific application knowing all the while that it isn't the correct item. Why can't they tell you up front that it is something different before you order, then have to pay freight to ship it back? Well I think I know the answer to that, they are hoping you will keep it and they have got over on you.
Things like this only seem to get worse these days.

Are you referring to the short piece of hose from the Fuel Filler to the gas tank? You can get that from NAPA. Just get gas proof hose.
From the ORD 9
1-Hose, filler pipe to tank, 2 1/4" ID 2 5/8" OD 3 lg (make from Hose-CC780182)
2-Clamp 2 5/8

NAPA refers to it as gas tank filler hose.
