engine number question

picked up a T245-17003 complete. what does the 17003 stand for? been a while since I posted here. lots of reading to do to catch up.

thx but what does it mean. the 3rd engine or the 17,003rd engine?

I may be wrong, but the first engine of the line I believe was T-245-10000 so should have been engine # 7,003
