Does anyone know of a 20" 5 lug wheel that will fit the m37? I want to be able to run some kind of 20" military tire. Im sure this topic has come up before but i just joined the site 5 min ago and havnt navigated around yet. Any input would be great. Thanks guys.

No 20" 5-lug BUDD style exists in a common, readily available wheel... it'll be a custom build. Marsh Racing Wheels, as well as some others, can make you a custom wheel, but WILL NOT back it for on-road/highway use.

To get up to a 40" NDT, I would look at Gama Goat tires with their adapters. they are 6 ply and a lot softer than the truck 20" tires.
There is a real old 5 hole 20" used on ton and a half commercial trucks from the 1940's and 50's.

THe older 5 hole rims I mentioned will not bolt right up, but need modified. If you search the net for pics, you will find a few that have done it.
Gama Goat tires are getting harder to find, usually $80.00 each and the adapters are $500.00 for 4.

Snake River makes an awesome adaptor, and it IS an option. But Tom's also correct in the fact that good Gama Goat 18" tires are getting harder to find, and will only get worse as time passes. The question is, do you only want something that will work for a short term, or are you looking/planning to keep the vehicle for a long time? And the challenge I recall with the old truck 20" rim is that they are rare & narrow -

I plan on keeping the truck. I just got it running and havnt even had a chance to drive it yet. Im not going to get rid of the stock wheels and tires that are on it now. I just wanted to see if there was other options.

it feels like ive searched the entire internet. I did notice that some 1940's-1950's Ford and GMC Farm trucks came with a wide 5 lug but the bold pattern is 5 x 7 7/8 (This is a 5 lug 20" wheel). The M37 is 5 x 6 7/8.

Late 70's winnebago' s also had a similar set up.

This might be crazy but since there the same center hole size also would it be possible to drill new lug holes in between the existing one and then weld in pieces to fill in the original holes? Since the center hole is the same, it wouldnt be hard to get it true.

We have some adapters to convert the standard 5-hole lug pattern so that 10-hole lug pattern, 5-ton military truck rims can be used. These rims typically run 11.00X20 tires, radial or bias tube types. 10.00X20 tires work great on these rims also. If you have any interest in that, I can email you some photos. If you want a tall tire in the 40" range, these work well, 5-ton rims are plentiful, and a very good selection of tire types are readily available at any local heavy truck tire dealer, especially radials, some bias types are still out there also. Premium quality retread tires with extremely agressive tread designs are also easily available, and are great for off road application at a lesser cost.

You can drill possibly drill a new pattern in the older rims, but the center bore may be an issue. Also, those older rims tend to be a bit narrow & call for a skinny tire...
