Pullman Strap?

Post by knattrass »

I've looked at 100's of photos and have not seen anywhere someone using the pullman loops? Then I ran into a guy who said that there is a pullman strap that has a sewn loop in it. You unbolt the pullman, thread the loop over, and re-attach. Then the strap serves to hold the spare roof bows in their forward storage position, and/or hold the seats up for storage. Seems logical but I thought I ask for opinions?

I've never heard them called Pullman straps, but my ignorance is nothing new...

Those straps are being reproduced by WeeBee (and others, I'm sure) as cargo bow straps, and run about $20 per set.

You have the right information as far as the application, though the bench seats are held up by a swivel tab that is mounted on the last upright.

Good luck...

Dave - thanks.

I have the 2 retaining tabs at the rear, but are there 2 more for the front?

Nope, just the two in the rear. Those seat board assemblies are pretty stiff, and they stay up just fine in mine. The front edges don't flop around.

Thanks Dave - mine are sitting vertical up against the house!! I've been taking advantage of the weather to scare up parts, so you saved me from looking for these!
