Complete M37 Part Out

Post by JHawes »

I know that I will recieve a flack, but I'm gonna part out the 53' M37 that I have. I've recently aquired my true passion, 1-Ton Civilian PW.

My m37 is complete, minus the tranny, tranny cover and center driveline. Tub has some cancer, but fixable.

Bed is in good shape, fenders are good but the driver side panel needs work.

Has GMC (oval window) steel top. Great shape.

Winshield frame is great. Both drvr/psngr front window glass/frame-great.

Have frame ext's for winch.

Truck is located in Central California, zip-93271

Just e-mail/pm with what you want and what your're willing to pay. Buyer responsible for shipping costs.

The first thing you're gonna catch FLAK over is your use of the term "a flack." There is no such thing as a "flack." The term is FLAK, which is an English (not American) term which was picked up and used by all Allied air forces during WWII. It is a shortend version of the German "FLugzeugAbwherKanon." (Flugzeug = Aircraft, Abwehr = Defense, and Kanon = Cannon) The full word is what we would call an "anti-aircraft gun."

In common usage, however, the term FLAK referred to the shrapnel produced when the shells fired from those guns exploded in mid-air. The allied aircraft met a veritable curtain of FLAK on their bombing raids...kinda like flying into a meat grinder.

Now, then, as far as parting out your M37 goes, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I'd like to see it remain intact, but it's better to part it out than it is to send it to the scrap heap.

Is there a serviceable tailgate involved? My '53 needs one.

the tailgate is actually pretty straight with minor rusting. However, there is some "tearing" in sheetmetal. More than I would want to mess with.

Took more of the truck apart tonight.

Have really nice, rust free doors and windows assembly's.

Rust free engine hood but has some dents.

Respectable front and rear fenders.

Good passenger side bed panel

Good driver side inner fender

Nice head board for bed

Arctic top with oval window, no cancer or dents

Rust free outer windshield frame, smaller inner two have rust in bottom channels.

etc etc . . . . .

Truck is now a rolling chassis.

Pulled a flawless gas tank today. No cancer, no dents.

Also have a really good driver seat. Rats have made two holes in bottom cushion, though.

My tub is shot is a few areas. Does anyone need patch panels/parts? Firewall, back wall, seat boxes???

I'm pretty sure I could do that.

I'm gonna start to dis-assemble the tub tonight but I don't want to torch it up. Hoping to carefully remove panels with care.

I'll let ya know what I come up with.

Please do. I have a line on a nice vent but would still be interested in all of the related parts especially the surrponding area. If or when it comes time to get rid of the cab (provided no one has purchased it from you) remember me for that part (please  ).
