Fuel pressure range

What is the acceptable fuel pressure range for our trucks? I found an electric pump with a 4-6 psi range with a relief valve "to prevent flooding". Can I use this without a regulator?

If you do experience carb bowl overflow check the condition of the float and float valve/seat first. You may not need a regulator.

6 PSI sustained may well give you a problem. I like staying in the 4 PSI range, never have had issues with that. NAPA has a new line of fuel pumps by AIRTEX. They offer an electric that pumps 4.5 PSI max, works great, no issues without a regulator. Always good to know the condition and type of needle-seat assembly you have in place, some just don't perform as well. I like the NAPA Echlin assembly that has already been mentioned also.
