I am dreaming about a road trip to NC to visit kin and friends. I will travel from Asheville to Goldsboro. I see AB Linn is in Salsbury and Charles Tarbert is in Norwood.
But I have emailed Cabell and not heard back yet, and I can't see it on his web site.

Hey Tom, If you have enough time, you stop by for a night, or two?

Hi Tom, by all means stop by if you are in the neighborhood, love to take you and your traveling companions out for a meal. Cabell is in Raleigh, NC on Lake Wheeler Road, east side of Raleigh, near highway 1 and 64. He is about 2 hours east of us here in Norwood. We are 1 hour southeast of Charlotte, AB is 1 hour north of us, off 601, actually north of Salisbury toward Mocksville. Asheville is right around 4 hours west of us. When do you plan to make the trip?

I would love to come in Jan or Feb. I have family in Pigeon Forge, Cherokee, and Goldsboro. But I might just be dreaming. I would love for my son to come and fly into Knoxville, but he is 28 and never been on a plane.
My wife will not fly and she knows that my family is a bunch of hillbillies.
It would be quite a road trip from Knoxville to Goldsboro.
I'll keep scratching my head and see what becomes of this idea.
I just need to make it back there before I die. LOL

I sure hope you can work it out. Goldsboro isn't far from Cabell at all, would also be a good stop for you at White Owl Parts at Kinston, just a few miles east of Goldsboro. I'll bet they have some Weasel parts around, they have lots of old stuff.

Tom,
I work in Goldsboro at Claridge State Nursery, right in the middle of the whole Howell clan. Frank, Bruce and Tim Howell are all aquaintances of mine. I also live in Kinston, just 15 minutes from White Owl. I bought some gama goat plates from you about 6 or 8 years ago. Small world huh?

Frank is a long lost cousin, and I have talked now for several years to him and Lynette.
Tell him you bumped into me on the internet. I will put you on my list of things to do.
My ggGrandfather left our plantation in Goldsboro in 1845. Instead of fighting the war, we were out west fighting the indians.
James Sasser that manages Howell Woods for Johnston College is also a blood relative. He told me to come down and go hog hunting.
IF I come, it might be Feb, when the weather clears up.

Still scratching my head about the trip.
I came down with Type 2 diabetes last week, and am now trying to get it leveled out with medication. I see if I get to feeling better.

Had a great visit with Tom Howell from Snake River 4X4 yesterday (Wednesday) morning. He arrived here shortly after 8 AM, I needed to make a run to the glass shop, he rode along and we took a little side trip on the way back to show him a few of the larger farming operations still left in our area. When we got back, he looked over our current M37B1 QSB4.5 Cummins diesel project we have in the works. Great meeting people from the forums, had many conversations via internet and finally met face to face. The vist was sort of like a fine meal, got over with too quickly, he left around 11 AM headed east to the Goldsboro, NC area to visit more relatives. He also paid AB Linn a visit while in the area. He left us a good sample of his potato crop which we enjoyed also. Thanks for taking the time to drop by Tom.

Pictures will be forth coming when I can figure out how to down load the last storage disc that I bought. I did go on to see Cabell.
