Hello gang,
Well yesterday my half-finished M37 made its debut at the local car show. Folks loved the truck and several Veterans came up to tell M37 stories. After a day of winning no door prizes I was starting to feel a bit left out amongst all that high gloss laquer paint.
When it came to the awards segment , they called my name for "Best Mopar". I looked at the wife and asked her "Was that my name they announced?". I simply could not believe it . There were mint Chargers, Hemi Cuda's, Challengers, 40's sedans, ect. What a fine ending to my trucks premier week I now have a beautiful plaque for the wall.
Thanks to all you guys for the help here on the forum to make it possible and provided encouragement when I was ready to abandon this project. Can't stop smiling

Congrats David, winning awards like that gives a feeling that all your hard work is appreciated by others who understand what it takes to build an prize winning vehicle. Also, it provides an incentive to continue your usually unrecognized challenging resto. work. Good job sir.

congrats! It's amazing how from time to time the old Power Wagons can out-shine even the most correct concours resto of a cuda or challenger.

Thanks guys. It was a big surprise. What was amazing were the kind folks with the Mopar muscle cars patting me on the back and offering congratulations. I was invited to several other shows as well. All in all a good day. Now I really want to get the rig finished.

Hey congrats! That is a good story, and I've been hesitant about going to car shows too because my truck isn't the prettiest thing around. Now maybe I'll give one a go soon!

A while back I took two old MOPARS to a local car and motorcycle show. One was a nicely restored 1942 WC52 - not a M37, but certainly a M37's daddy. First place truck.

I also brought a 1954 Power Wagon - not a M37, but certainly a family member. On the way to the show, a guy stopped me and asked me to retrieve his '75 Dodge Power Ram from where it had broken down in a Fort Hood training area. The 440 was stronger than his transfer case. He really wanted to get it out of there since he wasn't supposed to be there. It was a five mile tow in serious mud to get him out to a road where his buddy could complete the tow. Let's hear it for the directional Road Kings.

I continued on to the show. The truck was covered with mud. It received Second Place. Everyone said that was the way a great old 4x4 should look.

I still go to shows, even though I wish I didn't have to compete with the plastic cars built with parts bought with pocket plastic.

Congrats on your award, i entered my 51 M37 in a stock 50s class and took second place a couple of years ago.

Man that is awesome! I, too, hesitate to go where all the "base coat, clear coat" entries sit, but will overcome this once I get the paint job done (hopefully this summer).
