Harbor Freight again.......

I tried my $7.99 Harbor Freight air cut off tool last night. Been working on my dad's old Troy Built mulching mower. The thing is at least 20 years old and has some serious rot on the frame due to dad never clearing the clippings from beneath it. I thought it'd be some good practice with the welder, so I told him I'd fix the thing. He really doesn't want to see the old dog go because it is a very good mulching mower. So, last night I decided to try the cheap cut off tool I bought. I was surprised at how well the tool worked. Did a pretty good job of removing excess metal from the patch piece I am working on. Just thought I'd mention.

Last year I bought 3 of those at HF and put them on ePay. Sold for over double what I paid :) That is the place to go for low cost air tools. Especially with Ingersoll Rand making stuff in China now, probably the same thing.

Yep, I agree. I read of people downing Harbor Freight products, who will then go to Sears or Home depot and buy basically the same item, and will pay 20% more just for the name. And they gloat over the fact that in their eyes they got a better tool.....Well, they didn't!

Hey, for $7.99 if I get 3 months out of the thing, it's paid for itself. I think I will get alot more time out of it than that as I do't use my air tools all that often.

The Husky angle grinder I bought from Home depot let me down. Had I known about Harbor Feight back when I bought it, I'd have gone there instead. I got three years out of the Husky before it went south last weekend. Had I bought one from HF, I'd have paid probably 20% less and got the same amount of time out of it.
