Temp Gauge

Post by Evilone »

The ribbed plug is the polarized one. The ribs are the distinction between the "same" looking Packard connectors on the back of your temperature gauge. So - power to polarized connection and temp sender signal to other connector. Make sure gauge mount bracket is making good contact to the instrument panel; scrape off the paint if required.

gauge hookup

Post by achiem37 »

Stuart: according to my manual the schematic is showing the dash layout as looking towards it from the drivers seat. ( Don't take this as gospel though). All gauges usually have some symbols or letters at each of the connector studs. For example the power side connector stud usually has the letters "IGN or SW" and the sender connector stud side is usually stamped "GA" . hope this helps . Terry
