You're welcome! Glad to have done it. Wish I could still do it, too.

Today, I'll be participating with my American Legion post's Honor Guard in a ceremony at the local veterans' memorial at 1100 hours. At 1400 hours, I'll be driving the 40&8 fire truck in the Veterans' Day parade in Galesburg, IL (about 12 miles north of me). I never miss either event if I can help it. :)

Veterans day

Post by HingsingM37 »

Yesterday I was passed by a 79 Dodge 1/2 ton with a Vietnam Veterans plate on the rear. He slowed as he passed me noting my "If you can read this thank a Veteran" and US Army Dad stickers on my window.

As I caught up next to him at the light I could see he was wearing his dress Air Force blues with SGTstripes and cap. No doubt on the way to a ceremony.

We smiled and gave each other a salute. Made my day :D
