Here is what I know, I believe either the National Guard or the U.S. Army is (or was)buying these to put on their old M101 trailers still in service to eliminate the the origional split rims for safety reasons. These particular rims are on an M101 that belongs to the Missouri National Guard and is still in use.

The million dollar question is who is making these and are they still currentley available.I looked over these wheels closely and cound not find a NSN.

I have a friend who is in a Maintenance section with the Arkansas National Guard who is going to see what he can find out for me.I don't know if this is something new or something old that was discontinued.I see a lot of M101's still in service with the Arkansas National Guard.

Well then they were made for the Army because the Guard doesn't buy anything like that with out using federal funds.... So since it was made then some where or some place has to be a NSN and the manufactures information. I suck at web searching, but I bet it is out there some where.

That would be great information to know......

If they will fit the truck hubs and we could obtain them, it would sure simplify matters when it comes to getting tires mounted!! We could even run tubeless tires without the hassle of tubes and flaps!

More Input Needed

I have seen the same rim. In Naval/Marine Aviation there are bomb trailers (I forget the nomen clature off hand) that used to have the same exact rim as a M37, I used to have part of the publication for the trialer that showed the tire and rim in an attempt to find out more. They procured new trailers and the new ones had these one piece rims and 16x7.5 NDT tires on them. I had gotten the nsn for the trailer and called the item manager to see if I could see who had made the rim and he couldn't tell me. Said he didn't have access to that info. I gave up on it because as slow as my truck is now... I had no reason to want to put 7.5's on it.
I could possibly find out more if someone was intrerested and wanted to try to run it down themselves.
