My impact gun (Ingersol rand) has lost some of its gusto. Are they rebuildable? Could some seals have gone bad? It is aprox. 6 yrs old.
Thanks,

Oiler

Have you ever oiled it?
Dumb question, but sorry if you have.
If you haven't put a couple of drops of oil in the in fitting
of the wrench and wait for it to blow out the exhaust, then do it again.
This might help.

I usually place a couple of drops in every time I use it. I tried a little extra with no improvement. :(
Thanks,

Hi, yes you can rebuild them, they have fiber boards ( called vains ) that work like the wheel on the back or side of a paddel wheel boat, try some WD-40 in the air inlet, the rotory hammer and vains may just be gummed up from 6 yrs of air, oil and water.

Might simply be time for a new gun. They're getting fairly inexpensive and even the cheap ones get the job done. Sadly like everything it seems these days, the disposable mentality prevails in design and manufacture.

Kind of off topic but I switched to a cordless
DeWalt 18V. impact wrench.
I have been pleasantly surprised.
I relly like being hoseless , ahem, ur I mean.
Oh well.

just go to ingersalls website they will list the repair shops that rebuild them
I have had many air tools rebuilt. If you know of a tool vendor (like snap on mac etc they know where to send them also)
