The screw size and thread pitch is 10-32 and the length is 5/8".......I should know the exact length since I just worked on Toms distributor on Sunday. :oops: I didn't know there was going to be a test first thing on Monday. :wink:

Check that the plate isn't loose, that the points are fastened to. (This is what was wrong on Toms M) Make sure that the little Blued spring clamps are in correctly or the plate will walk back and forth.

I always found it easier to just pull the distributor and set the points & such out of the motor. One screw, six wires and one Bendix plug.

Mark the mounting flange with a white paint stripe and she goes right back in.

Some G741 coils have an extra resistor like a little hockey puck underneath, others are full length and don't use it. Make sure you have it inline if required, otherwise your points will burn rapidly.
