Marc,

I have looked at the pictures for two days now. One thing that sticks in my mind is the Chelsea pto appears to be a rear facing pto for something like a dump pump. I don't think it can be turned around so the shaft faces forward or maybe I am seeing something wrong ??

Looks like a PTO from an M715. That truck uses the Warner T98 transmission also. As far as output shaft configuration, that one can be changed around to put the shaft on the other side of the housing by simply changing positions with the bearing retainer caps. There are 4 caps; 3 solid and 1 with a center bore and oil seal where the shaft passes through; all 4 have the same bolt pattern. It has been a good while since I rebuilt one; problem is I can't remember 100% whether the internals are specific to output shaft direction or if it can be reversed easily; getting older seems to bring that out. Anyway, the one in the picture is oriented like it would have been to drive the winch on a 715. This is not the best PTO out there, the original used on the Canadian Dodges were a much heavier built PTO than the Chelsea.

After looking at it again I do believe it is the correct orientation I may have been looking at it wrong but it appears correct for front drive ... Maybe I was still sleeping or something...
