Women just don't get it do they....
The army could have been in it. When a unit turns in a vehicle (or trailer) as the case may be if it is not being turned in because it has been damaged beyond repair but are turning it in because they are getting a new replacement they have to service the vehicle and have it "in servicable condition" before they turn it in. So many times they will put new parts in. Espcially if they know that the replacement vehicle will also mean a new parts supply then they will use up the parts on hand and turn the vehicle in with the new parts installed and "in servicable condition."

I brought home my load of trailer parts from the blaster yesterday. The pic is in my album:

The pressure to have the trailer done by Memorial Day is off as this year I will be pulling the 40MM Bofors I restored for the museum years back. I can't wait to take pics with that gun attached to the M37
A happy Easter to all

Sunday I got to spend a couple hours in the garage. My plan was to mount the springs back on the axle. All went well until I realized I forgot to buy the new 1/2-20 nuts for the shackles
I go out yesterday on my lunch hour to buy them, quick and painless I thought. Tried TSC, no go, a big box store, no go, then I wind up at a little ACE hardware who had them but charged about .60 ea. I bought them anyway having all the time invested. Then I remembered I had a Fastenal a block away from the office. DOH

I hate when I do that. But sometimes it just happens. At least you have them and you can continue on the project.

With rain and snow looming yard work was out so I spent a few hours in the garage Saturday. I secured the leafs back onto the axle then re-attached the frame. Starting to look like a trailer again. Man, these sure go back together quicker than the trucks!

Thanks Bert. I am behind my original schedule. I oringinally wanted to have it done by Memorial Day. Hoping to wrap it up by mid summer

You're still a head of me David. Put in an 18 hour day on Saturday at my business so I spent Sunday doing much of nothing except for the run around with the wife to get things we need for the house. Nothing accomplished this weekend. Trailer is looking good. If it warms up maybe you can start to get some green paint on it.

Last weekend I re-installed the drawbars, drop leg, and lunette. I need to get the hubs back on but first have to run my backing plates back to the blasters as I forgot them in the first load of parts.

I tried to use paint stripper but it ended up a big mess and will be to labor intensive

David,
It's looking more like a trailer again.
I'm headed to your state to pick up M parts on the 12th of this month. This will be a 760 mile turn and burn.

Bert,
Nothing like a parts road trip. Where in Ohio are you going?

Dayton is about 2-1/2 hours south of me. If you were going to be closer I'd invite you to stop by of course.
