The 60 amp military alternator that is stock on the M35A2 trucks & many other vehicles can be easily adapted although it was never a stock item on a M37.peter e mark wrote:And now the question begs: Did the military ever make an alternator for the M37?

Hey - I'd be happy just to exhange my stock 25amp for a 60amp. Any ideas? The thing weighs a ton so I expect shipping would be large. Please let me know if there is a source - it would be nice here in the cold to have a little more juice perculating since my son will most likely be doing city driving with the heater and lights on.

You should be able to pick one up at any MV surplus dealer. The one thing to remember when installing it is this, disconnect the negative battery cable before you start. Hook up all alternator wiring, reconnect the negative cable last. Doing it any other way will burn out the alternator every time.knattrass wrote:Hey - I'd be happy just to exhange my stock 25amp for a 60amp. Any ideas?
