Wow, you guys had some great ideas. I like the Teflon idea to help prevent wear. And making them out of fiberglass is a great idea too! I'd even buy a pair after my wood ones wear out. I'll be curious to see how they faire after the winter rains and snow.

Done!
Have a few glitches as a 1-1/2 " fire pump output had to be removed
also a fuel line and control wires to the fire pump were routed through the boxes.

Tool drawer weather update.

Well the truck has sat for months with plenty of rain and snow and when I went to look at the drawers, they have fared just fine. DEFINITELY need the drainage holes! Apart from some rust from metal items sitting right on the bottom, there perfectly fine. I just need to keep metal from sitting directly on the bottom of the drawer.

How about getting some of that drawer liner that is a plastic cloth material that has a mesh texture. I don't know the name of it...I just know every drawer in my kitchen has it. I think Rubbermade makes it. You could cut it to fit the boxes then put the tools on it and since it's like a mesh, the water will drain right out, but the metal stuff wont sit in the water and wont get as rusty.
