Man that is a tough spot Sebastian! Most of us have seen shops that string along customers w/o being serious about completing the job.
These trucks, while heavy duty are extremely simple to work on. Can you pick up where the shop left off by yourself? Do you have friends that might help, or perhaps check out a high school shop class to see if they'd like to help? Andy Shyers (ASHYERS) here on the forum is a high school shop teacher. I visited him at school once and his kids (guys and gals) took the plunge into every aspect of reworking Andy's M37. Perhaps you can locate a school and inquire?

Finally I'll add-if you have basic mechanical knowledge and complete one small task per day you'll be seeing your work pay off in no time! Don't give up-help is available if you can locate it!
