There are at least three Champion plug numbers that will work in the OEM military shielded system (the supercede part number is in parens):
- 514 (XEJ-8) - cold / medium temp range
- 588 (XMJ14) - cold temp range
- 573 (XMJ20) - standard temp range (?)
There might be other Champion plugs, along with similar plugs from Autolite.

The 573 or XMJ20 are the ones that have worked best for us.
