Looking for a part

Post by powerwagontim »

Hi Guys,
Got a buddy looking for a part, he needs the filler tube for the gas tank. Not the big piece that bolts onto the fender with the gas cap, he needs the pipe that screws into the tank itself and gets the short rubber hose that connects it to the big filler. Anyone here have a rotted out or bashed up tank that could help him out?
Thanks,
Tim

That small metal tube I think you are talking about is just a normal big flare fitting that screws into the fitting on the side of the tank. I don't remember the size right now.

Nah, he's asking for the 2" diameter or so piece the gas goes thru.

Just a thought but has he tried a exhaust shop? They would have that size pipe and might have a mandrel that would flare the one end close to the size he needs.

An exhaust shop could make the pipe, but it would still need to be threaded. So much easier to unscrew one from a dead tank!
Thanks for the thought.
