Blown Chryco Hemi in an M37

Why is EVERYONE complaining about a tight fit with V8's in the M37 engine bay??
I stuffed this big block Hemi into the M37, Don't know why there are so many issues with the size of the engine bay.

It was time for some comedy. Friday will be my flat head 6 install into the M37day. It will be 113*F outside on that day. Luckily lots of shade, and the Porta Cool will be employed. A friend has volunteered to assist.

Good luck with the install. Looking at the manual starting dog on the front pulley I have to ask, Has anybody EVER started their M37 with the hand crank?

in the spring of '69, when I was graduating from Nebraska via ROTC, and soon to be a 2nd LT, with orders to Germany, decided it was time with my (first wife, who later ran off with a lawyer when I was in SEA) , to give our MGB, so went down to the Lincoln Dodge dealer, intending to buy a 340 Dart. When I wandered around the show room, I found that a Dodge Charger R/T wasn't much more. So I ordered a green R/T, and when the salesman asked if I wanted to option the 426 for $770 more, on top off the $3275 for the R/T, I asked if it did get the Hemi, did the 440 come in a box to me to? He asked if I had ever bought a new car before to which I replied "no." I thought I would get both motors.

Soon took it to Germany, where it was just a great fast car in post-war rebuilding Germany. Sold it later to a SGT who wrecked it, I did put an Offy intake manifold on it, cutting and pasting shoe box cardboard for an intake manifold gasket. It kept working when I sold it with about 33K miles on it.

Ah, what a great car that was.

This is next to the M37 in the garage. '75 Duster 1969 Burnished Bronze 340 +.040" 4 speed, 3.91 in an 8 3/4" rear, Lunati Voodoo cam.
