I am a member of several forums that have almost disappeared due to the members abandoning the forums in favor of facebook. I truly hope this dosen't happen here- way too much crap on facebook.

I am not on Facebook, although apparently there are some good things there. But all I hear from my wife and daughters is that other folks just post pictures and comments about their achievements, brag a lot. For me, this and several other forums like it are just perfect for helping me.

Facebook is nothing more than a place full of people that have no purpose in life other than the enjoyment of watching others fail. And doing their best to encourage them to do so. Antisocial networking is the proper name for it. I joined back when it first started to see if I could find some old school and service friends and it worked out quite well for that purpose but it went downhill very quickly with the " I need attention" crowd.
I don't "Need" attention so I go there as little as possible. It also tends to put a ton of spam on your computer that somehow manages to get around a lot of spam blockers.

I'm not a Facebook guy either and hope to remain here with you fine folks! We seem to have a very strong following on this forum w/o getting wrapped up with social media and I hope that will continue for many years to come!

I am also here for the long run and only check Facebook as a last resort to get info about events that don't a regular update on club websites.

My big beef with FB is that lots of it are not persistence. Yeah it's okay for showing what you did to your truck over the weekend. But if I remember something I want to read over again a year later it's gone.
