I have a quick question:
Are the exhaust manifolds on the Dodge 230 and the Dodge 251 the same, or is the 251 manifold slightly longer? I know that the 251 engine block is 2" longer, so this is why I ask.
I have a manifold, unsure which engine it's off of, and my truck is in storage so I can't get out the tape measure!
Thanks in advance for the replies

Re: 230/251 Exhaust Manifold
They are of different length and not interchangable.

Re: 230/251 Exhaust Manifold
T,
I don't have a 251 manifold in my hands, but from all the pics I've seen of them it should be easy to identify compared to the 230 manifold. On the 230 the exhaust dumps out just past the last port. On the 251 the exhaust dumps out between the last two ports...........if that makes any sense.

bob

Re: 230/251 Exhaust Manifold
The 251 block is two inches longer than the 230 and as such is the case, renders the manifolds non-interchangeable.

230s had the dump at the back and towrds the middle. depends on the year.w30bob wrote:T,

Re: 230/251 Exhaust Manifold
Seems like such a simple thing to miss, but I never thought about it till now. Thanks everyone! I re-retrieved the manifold today, based on the location of the exhaust, it is for a 230.Kaegi wrote:230s had the dump at the back and towrds the middle. depends on the year.w30bob wrote:T,
