PICTURES!! Front Clip teardown...
Hi Gang,
Finally got off my behind and began disassembling my M37's front this weekend, in order to replace the tired front fenders and to repair, prep and paint the cab and everything forward before winter arrives. The short radiator support panels likely have to go too, especially the passenger side-totally rotted out. I'll try to post a picture or two later today. Felt good to get the ball rolling, as I haven't had much time for the M since we bought our fIrst home last year.
More to follow,
Gary

Re: PICTURES!! Front Clip teardown...
Today I removed the radiator support panels and prepped the front fender rear braces for removal/replacement-mounts were totally filled with California dirt that settled in before I bought the truck in 2004 so I chipped out the dirt, powered up my wet & dry vac, removed the dirt and hit the bolts with a liberal dose of PB Blaster.

Hi Gary,
It's good to see that you are back to working on the M but I think you will need to post more than 2 pictures per week.
What is your overall goal to get done before the snow starts? Are you going to work on the brakes also? I seem to recall you mentioning them last fall. If so I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of that repair.

Re: PICTURES!! Front Clip teardown...
Thanks Bert! You might recall that I got the bed prepped and painted a couple of years ago. This fall's goal is to get the bed front, entire cab, doors, and front clip repaired, prepped and painted. Your memory serves you well! -I just found a shop that can turn my drums-all of this is contingent upon my next bonus from my employer, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Photos are still a PIA for me-I have to delete off my old ones in order to post new ones--we need to find a way to carve more space out of the forum memory banks my Friend....

Gary,
Upload you pics to the photo gallery. Then you can post as many pics as you want, and you don't have to delete older ones.

TURNING BRAKE DRUMS...
Hi Gang,
I finally found a shop with a lathe to turn my drums. They did so last weekend at $30 a drum and all turned out really clean-took care of any warping, too. I haven't installed them yet but may do so this weekend. I may need to contact Charles for some oversized shoes if I need them.

No picture of the freshly turned drums?
I've been waiting to see this thread because I will be doing the same thing later this month.

Re: TURNING BRAKE DRUMS...
Gary,
The pictures of the drums don't matter (just harassing you), I'm curious about the ID of the drum and oversized brake pad material. I need to know when the thicker pad material is recommended and how the adjustments work out.

Re: TURNING BRAKE DRUMS...
Gary;
Could you recommend the shop that turned the drums? What is the address and phone number in the SLC area? I can not find a shop to do the work in North West Wyoming?

Hey Don,
Sure thing-Wayne's Tire Pros on State Street:
http://www.tirepros.com/content/wayne%E ... -tire-pros
Did mine for $30 a drum and had all the adapters so I didn't even need to bring a hub.

Re: TURNING BRAKE DRUMS...
I have a number of brake drums I will sell cheap. Most have little use. I am in NC so shipping could be a killer.
