Taillight Brackets Question

Post by w30bob »

Hi Guys,

I was just looking at the taillight brackets on my truck. There are no taillights, just the bent up brackets. In looking thru the parts catalogs they show the Right and Left brackets as being different. I assume the Left bracket also has the trailer wiring connector. But on my truck both L and R brackets are the same and only have hole for a taillight. They look original, but if they are where was the trailer connector located? My truck is a '52.

thanks,
bob

You might have a M43 bracket on the left. There was no trailer connection on the ambulances and both of mine had short brackets with only taillight holes in them.

My '54 has the trailer plug cut-out on the left bracket.

Yes, the LH bracket is bigger and the trailer plug hole is to the left of the tail light.

Hi Guys,

Turns out I didn't look close enough at the left bracket. It was cleanly sheared off where the trailer connector should have gone, so it's got the normal left and right brackets.

thanks,
bob
