OT ballast resistor

Post by Rick C »

I recently bought an M38 that has been horribly converted to 12 volt. It was running until the ballast rsistor smoked up. Now won't start. Do I need to replace the resistor? The alternator isn't hooked to anything so only running off the battey. I'd hate to fry the coil....
Thanks

Step 1: Definately replace the ballast resistor.

Step 2: Thoroughly inspect the wiring. This will enable you to identify
the problem that caused you to fry the resistor in the first place.

Step 3: Fix that problem.
