"Budd" M37 project to air on SPEED channel

Post by MSeriesRebuild »

The "BUDD" M37B1 truck we did for Doug and Kelli Crickey of Dawsonville, GA will air in April on the Speed channel's "MY CLASSIC CAR" show on the following dates and times according to info we just received from Doug. I'm told the interview and taping session lasted for 30 minutes; I'm sure it will be condensed down into a very small segment of the show. The interview took place at the Star City Motor Madness Show and Rally in June 2010.

If you care to check it out; 1st round airing dates and times are as follows:

MCC-#16007
Sunday April 10 at 10pm eastern / 7pm pacific

Tuesday April 12 at 3pm eastern / 12pm pacific

Sunday April 24 at 9:30am eastern / 6:30 am pacific

It will also be aired at some later dates, but we do not have specifics as to when that may be at this time.

Don't feel bad Stu. I don't have cable or satilite so I don't get speed channel either. Maybe hulu or some other website may carry it. Or even their own website after it airs?

Funny that this thread should "pop up" as I was just wondering if there has ever been an MV featured on "My classic car". They certainly cover enough car shows and yet you never see one (MV) even sitting in the back round. Was under the impression that maybe the show's producers or the host? Didn't care for MVs/MV owners. You'd be suprised at some clubs/car shows don't like or want MVs.

Doug knew that Dennis would be covering that particular show, but had no idea if the M37 would attract any attention. He said he saw Dennis Gage pass by his location on a golf cart looking over the vehicles, and seemed he paid no attention to the truck. After a bit, he came back by; stopped and asked Doug if he was the owner and how long he had been out there. When Doug answered an hour or so, Dennis replied, "Well how did I miss this?" He then asked Doug if he would do an interview and if it was ok to do some filming of the truck. Needless to say, Doug was thrilled out of his mind and told them to film away. I'm told it all lasted approx half an hour.

Which means they will show about 10 mins of the truck. This is not a stock restoration but a modified truck correct?

I figure the segment will certainly be no more than 10 minutes, maybe not even that.

This is a very modified M37B1; we built it strictly according to Doug and Kelli's specs right down to the fine detail. There is over 200 pictures of the build on our website. It was a 16 month project. Doug told me today that he wished he was doing the interview now instead of last June. Now that he has become thoroughly familiar with all the trucks systems; he would be able to do a much more intelligent interview. He picked up the truck here on June 25th, went straight to the show. The interview was the 26th, he still had a lot to learn at that time.

Charles,
I've just spend like two hours looking at the pictures of "BUDD" and reading the story.
I can only say, awesome job you've done there. I wish I can afford all the good stuff you've shoehorned into that truck.
Amazing truck that couple got for themselves.

That couple has good taste on trucks including the Ram they' use to tow their M37.

Doug and Kelli are an awesome couple. They don't have kids, just the 2 of them. This is something they had wanted to do for years with their M37. Kelli honestly does love the truck just as much as Doug; now that is a trait we just don't see that often around here.
