Everything is fine and it's business as usual.

I bought an ex-Navy Willys and have been busy assessing its requirements.

I am very far from knowlegable on the older Jeeps but isn't the exhaust on the wrong side and in the wrong position? Does it have the original engine? I see composite lights also. Body looks real good though. That is the main thing.

Actually, it is a DJ3A. Delivered to the Department of the Navy 6-62. It is 2WD with the correct serial number L-134 Go Devil engine. (But the head is from 1948)
It has a T96 3 speed and column shift.
The exhaust is on the correct side as the fuel tank is in the back and not under the seat. (The fill is on the back, also.)
Originally it would have had the little round tail lights, but the Navy must have put the composites on before it left them. It was at MCAS Tustin as late as 1990.
Unfortunately, a previous civilian owner put carpet in the passenger area and the body is rotted all the way around the perimeter. The bed area is good, the tailgate is very good.
Front fenders, grill and hood are good.
The frame is amazing. The front horns aren't buggered up at all or modified in any way.
As a DJ, many of the parts do not interchange with M38 or CJ3A and are therefore 'difficult' to find.
Fortunately, It doesn't have DJ (Unobtanium) brakes. We aren't sure yet what brakes they are. They seem a cross between CJ5 and M38A1 parts and DJ parts.
That will get sorted as the project commences. I have an M37 that is a higher priority right now.
A decision as to keep or resell, Restore or just do required maintenance and drive it hasn't been made yet.
One thing is for sure, it is too original and weird to modify.
