CENTURY DISTRIBUTOR NOS CAP FIND

Post by HingsingM37 »

Hello Crew,

While out picking yesterday with Rich S at a local antique mall I came across this gem. I nearly walked by as the tag said "Army Jeep Cap". Intrigued by the vintage box anyway I picked it up and was anticipating finding a 4 cylinder cap inside. I then turned the box over to see "Dodge" stamped on it. Low and behold:

It is a Japanese made cap that is heavy like the old school NOS issue. Has anybody come across this brand before? Best part was I gave $5.00 for it.

In other news we had a bit of good old fashioned snow here Wed-Thursday. It was great. Like being back home in the Great Lakes Region. I spent lunch time outside throwing snowballs and breathing the crisp air. My local friends and co-workers thought I was nuts  My rig, old faithful 58-091618 fired right up  I hope all here had a great New Year

Never seen that brand before, but notice that they even copied the Auto-Lite part number IAU-1055 on the box. :)

Hi David,

Great find on the cap, the picture with the snow on the trees looks brutal for being that far south.

I have 4 of them. Century was a decent supplier of ignition parts a few decades ago. When the local 4wheeler shop cleaned out all the 'old garbage', I bought most of it for scrap value. Got a ton of M38 parts and a suprising amount of M37 stuff including NP200's, transmissions, body parts, etc.

Nice to hear from you David! Always nice to find a forgotten gem for these old trucks!

Thanks for posting your pictures too-I just posted a couple of snow shots of mine over in the Soap Box-crazy weather this Winter for sure!
