Playing with your M37 during the winter months

The heater puts out enough that i dont have a defroster
And havent needed to direct air to the glass.
If you notice.
I dont have to raise my voice to be heard.
I have three layers of insulation
1 peel n stick on firewall floors and inside dash
2 two sided foil covered bubble wrap trype insulation in same places
3 3/4" thick rubber mats (like they use in horse stalls) on floors

Well.....
Spent this morning plowing heavy wet snow....until i heard a clanking, at first thought I had thrown a chain off one of the wheels. Wish it was that, - broken yoke on the rear drive shaft at the rear axle.....ugh.

Luckily I only got 3 to 4 inches of wet stuff, just south of me, got 18 to 27 inches of the super wet stuff. Had it been deeper snow i would have lost the driveshaft in the snowbank.....forever.

Just spent two hours taking a good drive shaft off my other M37 and installing it on the plow truck, so much for the Friday evening plans. Due for 6 to 8 inches tomorrow so no time to waste.

Now time to source a new yoke and U joint. Anyone have some spares for sale.

Pull over and look at everything under the truck.
Hmm looks ok
Drive some more
BOOM!!!!
Pull over and find that the parking brake band came loose and whacked the underside of the ambulance.
Zip tied it out of the way and came home

one weekend this winter my uncle wants to hook chains with his m715 against my m37 and try to do a huge doughnut

Your set of chains sure seem to have allot more cross links compared to what I am accustomed to seeing. Mil Spec or civy?

The chains came with a WWII g506 Chevy that I bought last year. They are heavier built than a couple other sets of chains I've gotten with m37s and they have 20 crosslinks. I'm not sure if they are military or not.
