I shortened the parking brake rod once more and by George i think we got it this time.
On the drive home i got a whiff of hot brakes so once it cooled a bit i loosened them just a tad.
When i drive the couple miles to work i qill check it out and see if it is hot again

So far mine has
12 volt
318 engine
435 transmission
205 transfer case
Power steering
Locking hubs
40,000 BTU heater
and lots of sound and heat insulation.
Interior lights are LEDs
Complete new wiring throughout
Electric wipers
Thats all i can think of right now
I haven't decided on disc brakes and road gears yet.
They are both expensive.
What makes me undecided on the brakes is.
Even if I dont go disc
I still want new lines, dual cylinder and booster
And if I am going to all that money and time
Wouldnt it be worthwhile to just bite the bullet and upgrade all the way so that replacement parts are cheap and everywhere?

I have a lot of small screw holes in my dash.
And this is how i deal with them
Put a small piece of tape on the back.
Then fill the hole with jb weld
Sand and paint.
I am going to use a heat gun and sharp putty knife to scrape the old paint off .
Then use my dremel with sandpaper wheel to get the corners.
I am also going to use some hunter green gloss paint and see how i like it.

I have a 2bbl no name carb on the 318la almost 8000lbs ambulance.
I think it is 500cfm
And going up grades it just doesn't seem to have enough oomph to even keep it at 45mph
(Which with the gearing is approaching max speed)
Since i have no money or skill for cams, headers blabla
Would a pertronix and a slightly larger 2bbl get me the small amount of power i need?

came sooo close to getting a unimog or pinzgauer instead of my wagon.
I am glad i went with a van instead of a truck in any case.
For me
It is much more useful.
And i am REALLY glad i got one that had been modified.
Parts are cheap compared to the originals
3x the horsepower doesnt hurt either
With the original engine it wouldnt go fast enough to be legal on a highway

1 compression test
If acceptable go to
2 pertronix
3 different head
4 four bbl carb
Got my fingers crossed on the compression.
I also need
Locking hubs ( leaning towards selectro)
Dual brake cylinder and new lines/hoses.
I am on the fence with disc brakes.
It seems to stop fine and the drums are good.
But the road gears would make it so my bride would be more likely to go for rides with me
