Pay it Forward....

Post by Monkey Man »

Jordan's timing light post reminded me of a good thread over at Greg's Quads.ca site....
Pay it forward is simple, got something useful that you no longer want but don't feel the need to sell it, pay it forward, send it on to a new owner where it can be useful, does not even have to be M37 related....
This thread will operate independently of the Swap Meet section, just post what you have here and work out how to get it there between yourselves. I have a lot of useful to someone, useless to me stuff in the garage I give away and always seem to have a mountain of "stuff" left so maybe someone on here might end up with something too ;)

Post by jordankjcm »

I have the above items that are looking for a good home. Not really worth shipping, but if someone is in the Charlotte NC area and wants to come by and get them.....they are yours! PM if interested. Thanks!

I'm S L O W L Y coming to grip with the notion that I need to get rid of some M37 parts prior to our move this coming spring. So with that preamble, in addition to radiator shroud and support above, I have the following to give away as well:

Faria brand 24v fuel gage, packard connectors
oil filter canister
carb body (white rust on the inside....may be destined for the recycle bin)
carb top
carb throttle section (a little rusty)
military seat belt (one only, sorry)
crank sprocket for timing chain (almost brand new)
camshaft sprocket for timing chain (almost brand new)
clutch bearing carrier w/ used bearing (may need to be replaced)
NOS spare tire bar
2 brackets for the tool rack
rear axle seals (2)
speedometer drive gear (NOS)
take off (still works) thermostat
steering link with new bushing installed. In good shape

I would prefer not to ship, but will if you wish to pay the cost of shipment. Here is a link to a photo of these items. You'll see why I chose not to make photography a hobby or profession>

Please PM if you are interested any/all of this stuff. Thanks.

Did some more cleaning this afternoon. Here is a photo of some more stuff that needs a home:

This batch includes a set of original front hubs (the always locked kind), a lifting eye, some assorted tubes, an old spark wire (good for an emergency spare), and a throttle bracket. Also not pictured is a set of 4 brake shoes, good condition.

PM if you want any of this stuff before it goes to the recycling bin. Thanks.

Re: Pay it Forward....Bucket of bolts

Post by MSeriesRebuild »

Jeff, I have another 5-gallon bucket of bolts. Not all Dodge this time, some Dodge, an entire Jeep, and a bunch of John Deere bolts along with other misc. fasteners. I believe you got the last 2 buckets. If you are interested in this one, maybe we could trade some parts you want to move for a bucket of bolts; and we can do a local pick up. When you have a trip this direction or I can arrange a trip your way before long I think. Let me know if you have interest and we'll make it happen.

Thank you for the offer Charles, but I'll have to pass this time. I'm trying to reduce my inventory of spares and assorted parts as we are moving into an apartment (no garage) this spring. Right now I am trying to figure our where I am going to stash my truck, tools and the three trailers!

The shipping would be killer to AZ, I'm sure!

I can check freight cost if you like. Just so you know, I think the bucket contains approx. 25% power wagon logo bolts, balance is Jeep, John Deere, and misc.

Truthfully, all I really need is somewhere around 20-30 various bolts. And, since I have a good supply of IH stuff, figured I use that. I'm not a rivet counter and this truck will never be a show vehicle. (The JD stuff would be good barter stock around here. Lots of folks with tractors, me included. )

Anyone have a set of 4.89 gears to sell? VPW won't be having any made until summer.

I wish, they told me they would have the next run on the shelf by spring 2018, sounds like that plan may have changed though. I know it is a huge investment to get a run cut, and I do respect that, however as long as this has been in the works, I'm scratching my head as to why something more isn't happening. We have had numerous inquiries from people hoping we had some we could retail. I wish we could help, but currently we are waiting like everyone else.
