Diesel Power'd Wagon Project

Post by 52PLOWERWAGON »

since winter is on its way , I had to come up with a project ,and somewhere near the bottom of my long list of projects was engine for m37
my neighbor offered me a rotary pump 6bt cummins with an nv4500 and an np205 in a rusted out truck ,I plan on using that as my drivetrain
and I know a guy a that has a near rust free m37 I plan on grabbing that for body parts and ill be selling off all of my flathead parts as soon as I get a little extra cash ill get started
Thanks,TRAVIS

6BT is long, a 4BT fits, but you will have to modify the firewall to get a 6BT to fit.

I have to agree, but I've seen 6bts shoehorned in so it can be done.

4bt moves the m37 along quite well with a 5 speed trans behind it, problem is for the price of a 4bt you can easily buy a 6bt! I stepped in sh** finding mine an hour and a half from my hometown for a great price. Patience, and persistence is key.

this build will be put on hold for a while
I just picked up a 1978 Chevy c30 that's near rust free with no motor and a lift gate .
I'm going to get it whipped into shape so I can drive it this summer while I go through my 1997 dodge dually (daily driver)
I am going to get the m going again ,but it might be a while
Thanks,TRAVIS
