Re: Spotlight mount kits, any interest?

Took me a couple years... but I actually dropped off a bunch of pictures, and that CAD drawing at the welding shop I go to yesterday. The owner seemed to think that he could make it fairly easily. I will post pictures when I see the finished product! For me, originality is not absolutely necessary, ...

Re: Jump seat

I believe it is vintage power wagons that is having a special on all the parts for the jump seat EXCEPT the pins for the hinges right now.

I have no affiliation with this company.

Re: U-Joints

Just picked up a great looking driveshaft assembly from Veteran Vehicles in Wrentham Mass yesterday...everything is nice and tight. New u-joints and it'll be installed Interesting thing I found out...my truck did NOT have an M-37 driveshaft on it...I will post a photograph tomorrow. Looks military, ...

Re: U-Joints

T, On each driveshaft yoke, if you unscrew the cap, there should be (2) washers with a felt seal between them. The washers and the seal have tits on their ID that fit into the splines on the shaft and the felt absorbs the grease to keep it lubed. I'd unscrew the cap and clean out all the old grease...

Re: U-Joints

Thanks to everyone for the help!

I'll post pictures of the replacement parts when I procure them to help anybody else with similar questions.

A question which was asked via a PM; is there any seal on the slip joint which could cause problems being NOS?

Re: So now, to the blown head gasket...

I have seen a number of these 230s gaskets fail between 5 and 6, never figured out why but that area seems to be where the 230's head gaskets let go most often. I have wondered if it had something to do with coolant not being able to circulate thoroughly at the back of the engine. I've wondered the...

U-Joints

I ended up blowing my rear U-joint right where it connects to the rear differential last week...it was most impressive! Anyhow, I was able to drop the front yoke and drive home in front wheel drive, easy. The driveshaft got pretty banged up when it dropped, I think I am going to be getting a new one...

Re: Ever Seen a Recapped NDT?

I had a re-cap with a 1952 date on it as a spare...ended up giving it away to a friend for his M101 trailer, because the thought of relying on a 60 year old re-cap in an emergency was scary!

Re: signalstat 900 install

I used the signal stat 900 that was in my truck when I put in the new wiring harness. I found an issue using single filament bulbs, when the truck was supposed to be signaling right, the emergency flashers would come on. The solution as it ended up being, was changing to duel filament taillights, pr...

Re: idles fine - no power under load

I;'d say fuel issue. Check/replace the filters first, but my vote is: I had this issue last year about this time. Ran GREAT, then when it warmed up fully it would start stuttering like I was running out of gas and die. If I let it sit for 15 minutes and cool down, I could drive it home. It would onl...
