Once I upgraded to the Pertronix and an electric 24 volt aerospace fuel pump, ZERO issues while driving in the Arizona summer heat.

I upgraded to the Pertronix to eliminate the points. EZ upgrade and no possible issues with ionized gasses in the distributor causing problems.

I had a crack in my 230 exhaust manifold that was on the front runner. The crack was about an inch long. I took mine to a mechanic that had a special powdered metal which had cast iron and possibly zinc. Great job, cost $75. These are known to crack and the cost for a new one is around $200-250. My ...

I think you are on it. Definitely check your oil for gasoline in the crankcase. When the diaphragm goes south, it can leak fuel into the crankcase.

The addition of Marvel Mystery Oil to the gasoline may help the plunger slide better in the bore. Today's Gas with alcohol gives the plunger a hard time.

I use a .025" thick round section of copper shim to fit into the recess in the distributor where the coil sits. Coat both sides of the copper with thermal compound (grease). Install the import (Chinese or other) coil and secure with the two screws. This will aid in the transfer of heat from the...
