Re: 383 Mopar powered M37

Not much new on my build - added a few pics in the gallery. I just got some Parts Mike offset tie rod ends in an attempt to avoid cutting the cross member. Right now the drag link hits the cross member when the wheel is fully turned. I could move the reversed 78 Bronco steering box back 1.5" so...

Re: Front Prop Shaft

To cut down a driveshaft at a shop is inexpensive (~$75). However, replacing the pipe or adding length is $$$$$! IMHO: Get a used driveshaft.

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37

Dodge truck bb dipstick tubes are available online for $50. Or you could get a 30" length of flared 3/8" brake line and cut it down to 25.75" oal, bent it such that it has about a 45 degree upward angle until passing the manifold downpipe, and then do a quick bend upward and outward. ...

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37

Can't win with manifolds. The C body manifolds are smaller and leave more width room, but point the exhaust at the frame.

57hemicuda, my 383 seems to be sitting ok. I expect the driver's side exhaust will be tough to get past the pto shaft. Any suggestions on changing where it sits before I make it permanent? Thanks.

Re: Brush Buggy Build

You got the spark wires on the dist in the correct order? I am unfamiliar with using propane. However, to keep thing simple, let's take the fuel system out of the equation by just pouring a bit of fuel down the air cleaner pipe and turning on the choke. It run? Yes - then :) No - verify timing Bad t...

Yes, the cross member is tight especially with the 1.5" od DOM. The 4" drop pitman arrived today. Tomorrow I will see how it looks installed and take some pics.

Re: wintergreen oil restores rubber

NAPA sells a rubber preserver in a gallon. It was under $30. It does not contain alcohol, which damages rubber.

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37

http://g741.org/photogallery/main.php?g2_itemId=15606 I am doing the no frills version of 57hemicuda's work. I am still in the fabricating stage for the 383 install. The big differences between our swaps is I am using a 78 Bronco reversed steering box located at the crossmember and cross over steeri...
